smooth locomotion

Initially, I had no support for that. It would be against the impossible spaces. But a friend of mine suggested that I should add it. And while I was against making it a game feature, I added a code to allow movement using a keyboard and a mouse. Turned out to be a convenient way to test the game.

The more people played the game, the more vocal were the players who wanted to play it with smooth locomotion. And that's when I started to think that I should make smooth locomotion a way of movement in the game.

While I still recommend at least trying how VR feels when your main locomotion method is moving in the real world, I think that people should enjoy the game the way they prefer. Also, if someone installs the game, tries standing mode and decides that maybe it could be fun just to try room-scale mode, then it is easier, mentally, to do so while already having the game installed.

Another reason is that it makes it possible to test the game as it would be played in a larger play area. You may want to try it before you look for the right place to play the game walking.

There is another way to enlarge the visible play area. It's limited, though. You can use horizontal scaling - it enlarges your virtual play area up to twice as big. If you have 2x2 play area, you won't be able to try anything bigger than 4x4 with horizontal scaling alone. With standing mode, you can test a larger area (and while there is one predefined default size, you can try any you want).

But it wasn't just taking a debug feature and putting a sticker on it "ready to go". I had to make sure it works fine, that you can switch between and that the game detects when it should be used (and allows the player to force the way they want to play). I had to revisit all the levels and make sure that the player won't get into inaccessible places.

It is in the game now. Only standing mode but I may add sitting mode too. Not yet though.

Now, I want to focus on new content.

My brother showed me this game a few years ago in early development. First time I had seen this concept done so well! Super excited for what is to come!

Just found out about your game, it looks amazing! Going to download and give it a go this weekend :)

Hey, have fun! If you'd like to play more (there's a bit more content added than what it is in the demo), try preview builds. The best way is to join discord server (https://discord.gg/FFwyf4n) and go to preview-builds channel to learn more.
